What stories are inscribed in the architecture of a building?
A vast network of historical currents have passed through the IIE’s building at Miguel Ángel, 8. Over the course of five weekly two-hour sessions, starting May 17th, artist Nicholas F. Callaway will lead students on an exploration of the IIE’s history through architecture, textures, images, maps and documents. Coinciding with the IIE’s 125th anniversary, we will we train our eyes and minds to see some of the overlapping and intersecting stories that have left their mark on our building, using rubbings, photographs, primary source documents and the physical exploration of the site.
