What does it take to be a man in America? Is there a crisis in American masculinity? Against the backdrop of #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, discussions about male power and privilege in the United States have taken on a new urgency. In this course we will examine a variety of cultural productions (music, film, literature, television, theater and current events) in order to address central questions about the construction of masculinity in contemporary U.S. culture.
This course is designed for learners with an Advanced or Proficiency level of English.
