The 90-minute online classes focus on acquiring and practicing pronunciation, vocabulary, and common expressions in conversations.
Each 90-minute online English class emphasizes the discovery and practice of pronunciation, vocabulary, and discourse patterns. Students will interact not only with their teacher but also with other classmates in activities for pairs, groups, and mingling. They will also rely on exploiting speech technology to resolve doubts and foster autonomy. Students will receive electronic file worksheets to complete tasks and use authentic documents such as audio and video files.
This course is for students at levels B2 (Upper Intermediate) or higher.
Homework, Assessment, and Technical Requirements
This course has no homework or examination requirements aside from practice outside the virtual classroom. To carry over freshly acquired knowledge and skills, students are strongly encouraged to observe the speech of native speakers for these patterns in spontaneous conversation in media such as television and radio and apply those patterns in face-to-face or computer-mediated communication.
For each session, students must test their computer audio, video, microphone, speakers as well as their Internet connection. Furthermore, they must troubleshoot any technical issues with Zoom video conferencing prior to class.
