The 5 of the week by Mar Campelo (professor at BU)
Friday / Juana Gil Fernandez Phonetics for Spanish Teachers: from Theory to Practice
The fundamental purpose of this work is to provide the teacher of Spanish as a foreign language with the necessary theoretical knowledge about the phonetics of Spanish and the methodological resources available to face the task of teaching its pronunciation. But, in addition, this is a book dedicated to investigating, from said theoretical and applied perspective, the basic aspects that make up, and to a great extent characterize, the sound profile of Spanish. The work is divided into seven chapters that cover both the level of suprasegmental and segmental phonic analysis. Each chapter concludes with a series of exercises –whose solutions are offered at the end of the volume- and with a set of proposals for activities and topics for reflection aimed at deepening the subject in question. A general glossary is also included at the end of the work.
