 “The Death of Artemio Cruz, which appeared in 1962, is a novel by the Mexican writer Carlos Fuentes. In this book, Carlos Fuentes presents a panoramic view of the history of contemporary Mexico as recalled by a dying industrialist and politician. The novel begins when Artemio Cruz, from his deathbed, recalls the most important stages of his life, and in particular his participation in the Mexican Revolution.
