“Biography of Spanish cinema” by Fernando Alonso Barahona

“This book, in line with the historical reason advocated by José Ortega y Gasset, connects the artistic narration of Spanish cinema with the rest of the events that have marked Spanish life throughout the century. In its pages the difficulties of the creators can be contemplated, their sometimes lonely effort, the frequent state interventionism if possible from 1982, the scarce international diffusion of the works, but we also discover forgotten or present films, of an interest and a value superior to what some have tried to make us believe.”
