Exhibition “Passion for Renoir. The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute Collection”

“Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), one of the most outstanding artists of Impressionism, worked throughout his life with an absorbing passion for painting that led him to achieve great prestige and popularity among his contemporaries. The excellent set of 31 works by the artist, the best among those gathered by the North American collector Robert Sterling Clark (1877-1956), founder of the Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute (Williamstown), will be shown at the Prado, sponsored by the BBVA Foundation, in what will be the first monographic exhibition dedicated to Renoir in Spain.”
