I INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE MICRO-STORY COMPETITION

Part Two: "A Grand Finale"

ADULT CATEGORY – IN SPANISH:

ALL THIS HAPPENED, MORE OR LESS.

25. If I had taken my life, all that I have been would have been buried with me; Nothing would be known of this story. Now, I am immortal.

26. At his side, I would have been happy. An eternity would not have been enough to put out the fire burning inside me. I only have the memory.

27. That's how I was: adversity, the engine that started my spirit; the happiness, if he had held me in his lap, would have suffocated me.

28. He became overbearing and threatening. His presence instilled fear. His silences were the prelude to his furious outbursts. He never recovered.

29. My memory is fading. Soon I will forget my friendships, my loves, my pleasures... My life will be reduced to the present. There will be no past.

30. Nothing interests me anymore. In each step I drag my boredom wherever I walk. Yawning is my only companion, my faithful companion.

31. He lived alone because he did not find anyone like him. Too many thorns hurt his heart. In the end he isolated himself from the world, never to return.

32. I loved the glory and ignored the one who loved me from the heart. Fame dragged me into an intoxicating but false world. I failed everyone. Do I deserve your forgiveness?

33. I always lower my head, I always feel guilty. At all times I am accompanied by pessimism and despair. But where to go?

34. Today, we are drowning in sadness over the death of a great guy. But it is only the beginning. Coffins like this are proof of immortality.

2. The roars were getting louder. Visitors started running in all directions. A tiger had escaped from the zoo.

IT WAS ALMOST DECEMBER, AND JONAS WAS BEGINNING TO BE FRIGHTENED.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR “A GRAND FINAL” HAS ENDED (until April 5, 2011).

One winner per category will be selected from among all the proposals received, who will receive as a prize a set of books from the Siruela publishing house, a collaborating publisher of the contest.
