II INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE MICRO-STORY COMPETITION

Part One: "A Good Beginning"

ADULT CATEGORY – IN SPANISH:

6. I became what I am today when I was twelve years old.

7. The first thing Gabriel Arintero remembers is a feeling of intense pleasure when kissing a cousin his age.

8. Chup, chup, chup, and some began to fall and others to run, screaming.

9. As I waited for the moment to use it, I could barely control my excitement.

10. I hated having to trick him like that, but how was I going to explain it to him?

12. From that moment on, I did my best to never see myself reflected anywhere.

13. I was always the dreamy type. And, given my situation, what else could it be?

14. Everything, on the outside, was designed to inflict mortal damage on us, always.

15. He needed seven days of rest to regain strength and continue the trip.                                               

16. He walked towards the square and collapsed exhausted next to the frozen fountain.

18. His body was never found, probably buried in a crack.

One winner per category will be selected from among all the proposals received, who will receive as a prize a batch of books from Siruela, a collaborating publisher of the contest.
