Cultural recommendation for the weekend

Exhibition of photographs by Virxilio Vieitez

VirxilioVieitez

“This selection includes his most famous works but also unpublished works, including color and vintage photographs. In it, the particular look of Vieitez is evident, a photographer with a unique ability to make everyday images emphatic, solemn and intense, devoid of any artifice. Although most of his work is characterized by the hieratic postures of the subjects, the rigid frontality in the pose and their intense gazes -the eyes look directly at the lens-, the viewer discovers closer and sometimes even comical scenes, dynamic snapshots of relaxed moments.”
