April is poetry month in the United States and the Young Learners 2 class celebrated this by reading and learning about poetry. At the end of the month, they created visual poems about their hometowns. This activity started with a review of the five senses and how they can build our experiences and memories of different places, especially the town or city you are from. With a writing guiding frame, the students wrote poems using words to describe what they see, hear, smell, taste, and feel in their hometowns. Next, they took words and phrases from their poems to IMG_20150425_124321 ~ 2illustrate a self-portrait.

Pilar, Carmen, and Leyre wanted to share their poems on the blog. You can listen to them at the end of this post.
