New collaboration with the Teatro Real: Orson Welles: Master Storyteller

In recent years, IIE has collaborated with the Teatro Real in various activities, which have included film seasons, ACS courses and workshops, and talks sponsored by the US Embassy.

This spring the collaboration continues. On the occasion of the production of la opera Falstaff by Verdi at the Teatro Real (April 23 – May 8)this term two parallel activities will be offered that will explore the link between the figure of Falstaff and Orson Welles. This character fascinated Welles, who played him in his film Chimes at Midnight, one of his masterpieces.

ACS Mini-Course

The ACS mini-course Orson Welles: Master Storyteller will explore Welles's work on film and beyond, with the goal of better understanding his impact on American culture. The course begins on April 8 and ends on May 13. This course is designed for students with an upper-intermediate level of English.

En the free film series Orson Welles: Master Storyteller, made with the support of the US Embassy in Madrid, six films by Welles will be screened:

Before each screening, there will be a brief introduction to place each film in the context of Welles's career and legacy, as well as his far-reaching impact on American culture.
