#StayAtHomeReading #AtHomeWithIIE #AtHomeWithASM
From American Space Madrid and the library of the International Institute we launch the Reading and critical thinking club #StayAtHomeReading so you can continue to enjoy American literature from home. The activity is part of our #AtHomeWithASM #AtHomeWithIIE virtual programming.
This first virtual meeting will be dedicated to the analysis and debate of the story Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery", first published in 1948 in the weekly The New Yorker, which can be easily obtained through the Internet in both Spanish and English. For those of you who prefer to read it on paper, we recommend the graphic adaptation by Miles Hyman, which has recently been published by the Nordic publisher.
After an individualized reading, the work will be discussed in a group using the zoom tool. We will have the moderation of Karen Secrist, PhD. who will make a brief introduction, ask questions, lead and encourage the debate.
Those registered for this activity will receive before the session a message to the email that is provided as a contact with instructions on how to participate in this virtual debate.
