Concert 2 – with Clare of Assisi
As part of the "Deep Listening" course, offered within our American Cultural Bites program, we invite you to a concert with the composer and guitarist, Clara de Asís.
Assisi's work invokes simplicity, nonintervention, and active listening as ways of approaching creation. At once intensely precise and intuitively open, his pieces are characterized by attention to sound in its smallest details and most refined forms.
In 2018 he released the album 'Do Nothing' on the British label Another Timbre, consisting of a suite in which the sounds produced between one action and another "live" by themselves, with revealing results for the listener. In the same year, the North American record label Elsewhere Music released 'Without', a composition conceived for violinist Erik Carlson and percussionist Greg Stuart.
His work has been presented in numerous international scenes such as Musica Nova (Helsinki), Keith Rowe: Extended (New York), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (England), Archipelago (Madrid), Instants Chavirés (Paris) or Himera Festivaali (Turku).
At the end of 2019, 'Sans nom ni forme', a series of pieces for guitar and percussion, will be published on the North American label Pilgrim Talk.
The concert takes place in the auditorium of the María Dolores de Pradera Municipal School of Music and Dance (C/ Farmacia, 13).
Free entry until complete seats.
