On Tuesday, November 8, with the celebration of the mid-term elections in the US, we will attend the first major referendum on the era of the Biden government. But former President Trump may also be a factor, and the election will be a test of his strength among Republicans. American voters share concern about the evolution of the economy, to which Republicans add concern about citizen security and immigration, while Democrats emphasize reproductive rights and threats to democracy. On foreign policy, there seems to be a respite from so much polarization, with both parties voicing support for a strong US presence in the world.
