Pedro Bonet and Belén González Castaño are the recorder soloists of the baroque music group “La Folía”, directed by Pedro Bonet since its foundation in 1977 and has recorded numerous CDs and given concerts in some forty countries in Europe, America and Middle and Far East, also starring in several premieres of contemporary music for baroque instruments in important international festivals (Granada, Alicante, Madrid, Lisbon, Paris, Rome, Acapulco, Caracas, Rio de Janeiro and Istanbul).
Relying on an abundant instrumental of different historical typologies and tessituras, which confers great variety to the audition and constitutes one of the attractions of this duo formation, Pedro Bonet and Belén González Castaño interpret the rich and abundant baroque repertoire for two flutes without bass, along with a sample of literature for flute alone or for flute and bass, as well as pieces for two voices of medieval and Renaissance contrapuntal music.
The duo has performed, among other places, in Vienna, Graz, Manila, Shanghai, Beijing, Tenerife, Madrid, Cáceres, Huelva, Ottawa, Lima, Cuzco, Milan, Utrecht, Brussels, London, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Asunción and Salvador. from Bahia.
Pedro Bonet is professor of recorder at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, where he also teaches Improvisation and Ornamentation and Baroque Ensemble. Belén González Castaño has made numerous concert tours and record recordings with La Folía.
