Stewart creció en el pequeño pueblo de Meadow Vista, en el norte de California. Completó su licenciatura en Humanidades, enfocada en la literatura de América Latina, en San Francisco State University. Durante un año estuvo estudiando en el extranjero, en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, donde se enamoró de la cultura y la historia española. Más tarde, impartió clases en Colombia y Corea del Sur, volviendo a España en 2016 para cursar un máster en Estudios Norteamericanos en la Universidad de Alcalá. En la actualidad, es doctorando en la Universidad de Alcalá, donde su investigación se centra en la censura de la literatura norteamericana durante el franquismo. En su tiempo libre, a Stewart le gusta jugar al béisbol y hacer surf.

Stewart grew up in the small town of Meadow Vista in Northern California. At San Francisco State University, he completed his BA in the Humanities with a focus on the literature of Latin America. As an undergrad, he spent one year studying at La Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where he fell in love with Spanish culture and history. After living and teaching in Colombia and South Korea, he returned to Spain in 2016 to study an MA in North American Studies at the Universidad de Alcalá. He is currently a doctoral candidate at UAH, where his research is focused on the censorship of American literature during the Franco regime. In his free time, Stewart plays baseball and surfs.
