Una imagen vale más que mil palabras! A picture is worth a thousand words!
Español: Durante el trimestre de primavera, los alumnos del Programa de Inglés para Jóvenes han participado en un proyecto de fotografía.
El tema de la fotografía ha servido como vehículo para usar el inglés de una manera auténtica e interesante.
Como parte del proyecto, los alumnos…
- Investigaron sobre fotógrafos importantes en internet
- Aprendieron y hablaron de diferentes estilos y elementos de la fotografía
- Visitaron dos exposiciones fotográficas en Madrid, e hicieron investigaciones antes de asisitir: “Los Angeles de Julius Shulman,” Fotógrafo arquitectónico, y “Desvelos,” Mujeres Africanas
- Escribieron sobre fotos que eligieron e hicieron presentaciones orales en clase.
La Exposición:
Los alumnos han sacado fotos relacionadas con temas distintos y las han presentado en clase.
Con este proyecto, el dicho no podría ser más válido: “Una imagen vale más que mil palabras.” “A picture is worth a thousand words!”

English: This spring term, the Young Learners English classes have participated in a photography project.
Students used photography as the vehicle to use English in an authentic and interesting way.
As part of this project, students…
- Researched important photographers on the internet
- Learned and talked about different styles and elements of photography
- Used descriptive, persuasive, and comparative language in class discussions
- Visited two exhibits in Madrid and researched the topics before attending: “Los Angeles of Julius Shulman” Architectural photography of L.A. and “Desvelos” Women of Africa
- Wrote descriptions of photographs they chose and presented them to the class
The Photography Exhibit:
Students have taken pictures related to different themes and presented them in class.
With this project, the saying could not be more true: “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
