Young Learners 2: What’s Your Dream Vacation?
During March’s theme of Vacations in the YL2 English class, the students have been studying the past tense with the verb “to be”. They learned how to describe situations in the past, such as “I was busy last week” and also ask for information about the past, like “Where were you yesterday?”. They have also been reading stories about popular vacation activities for families in the United States, including camping.
This culminated in a creative activity that combined their imaginations with the English concepts learned in class. The students imagined a dream vacation and made a postcard about it.
They wrote a message to a friend or family member about the destination and on the other side of the “postcard” they represented the place with a collage.
Then, they presented their postcards from their dream vacations to their classmates.
What’s your dream vacation? Some of their dream vacation destinations included Rio de Janeiro, Disney World, a zoo, a bowling alley, and an aquarium. Fun!
¿Cuál es el destino de vacaciones de tus sueños?
Durante el tema de marzo de Vacaciones en la clase de inglés YL2, los alumnos han estado estudiando el tiempo pasado con el verbo “to be”. Aprendieron a describir situaciones en el pasado, como “I was busy last week“, y también pedir información sobre el pasado, como “Where were you yesterday?“. También han estado leyendo historias sobre las actividades populares de vacaciones para familias en los Estados Unidos, incluyendo camping. 
Esto culminó en una actividad creativa que combinó sus imaginaciones con los conceptos aprendidos en clase de inglés. Los estudiantes imaginaron unas vacaciones de ensueño e hicieron una postal al respecto. Ellos escribieron un mensaje sobre la destinación a un amigo o miembro de sus familias y en el otro lado de la “postal” recrearon ese lugar mediante un collage.
Luego presentaron sus tarjetas postales de sus vacaciones de ensueño a sus compañeros de clase.
¿Cuáles son las vacaciones de tus sueños? Algunos de sus destinos de vacaciones de ensueño incluidos fueron Río de Janeiro, Disney World, un zoológico, una bolera, y un acuario. ¡Que divertido!
