Young Learners 4 termina un trimestre completísimo
The winter trimester at the International Institute has flown by for the kids in Young Learners 4! They learned a lot about natural disasters and catastrophes like tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, and more. After watching some disaster movie trailers to get some ideas, the students even wrote their own theater plays about disaster experiences and acted them out. The stories were really creative and fun despite taking place in a plane crash, a tsunami, and a shipwreck. Afterward, they watched the exciting movie “Cast Away” in English. All this while learning grammar concepts such as “used to”, “so do I/neither do I”, and the different uses of “make” and “let”. To illustrate “make” and “let”, the students created posters about what they were allowed to do and made to do at different places such as at home, school, the beach, and even the International Institute! It was a great trimester and everyone is looking forward to spring!
¡El trimestre de invierno en el Instituto Internacional se ha pasado volando para los chicos de Young Learners 4! Aprendieron mucho sobre catástrofes y desastres naturales como tsunamis, terremotos, tornados y más. Después de ver algunos avances de películas sobre catástrofes para generar ideas, los estudiantes escribieron sus propias obras de teatro sobre experiencias desastrosas y representaron una pequeña actuación. Las historias fueron muy creativas y divertidas a pesar de tener como escenarios un accidente de avión, un tsunami y un naufragio. Luego vieron una película emocionante, “El Náufrago”, en inglés. Todo esto ocurría a la par que iban aprendiendo conceptos de gramática tales como “used to”, “so do I/neither do I”, y los diferentes usos de “make” y “let”. Para ejemplificar “make” y “let”, los estudiantes crearon carteles sobre lo que les era permitido hacer y lo que debían hacer en diferentes lugares, como en casa, el colegio, en la playa e incluso en el Instituto Internacional. ¡Fue un trimestre buenísimo y todos están emocionados por la llegada de la primavera!
