Young Learners and Kids’ Club Spring Shows 2015
The 20th of June we celebrated the end of the trimester with the “Young Learners Spring Show 2015” which had acts by the Young Learners 1, 2, and 3 groups. Each class prepared something special to present to their parents and friends. The Young Learners 1 performed two poems, “Big, Bad Cold!” and “Doctor Jen;” the Young Learners 2 presented a poem about trees, “Trees,” by Harry Behn and sang a song, “Dancing in the Street” by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas; and the Young Learners 3 told jokes, sang two songs (one original that they composed), and one presentation about technology. Afterwards all the families got together in the cafeteria to celebrate a trimester full of learning and activities.
El 20 de junio celebramos el “Young Learners Spring Show 2015” con actos de los grupos Young Learners 1, 2, y 3 para celebrar el fin de los cursos de inglés. Cada clase preparó algo especial para presentar a sus familias y compañeros. Los Young Learners 1 hicieron dos poemas “Big, Bad, Cold!” y “Doctor Jen,” los Young Learners 2 presentaron un poema sobre arboles, “Trees” de Harry Behn y también cantaron una canción, “Dancing in the Street” de Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, y los Young Learners 3 contaron chistes, cantaron dos canciones (una original que ellas compusieron), y una presentación sobre tecnología. Después todas las familias se juntaron en la cafeteria para celebrar un trimestre lleno de aprendizaje y actividades.
Kids’ Club finished off the trimester with a fun show for their families.
Daniel’s group performed a play of The Gingerbread Man and Michaela’s group did a play that they wrote themselves called “A Rich and Poor Summer.” Then they finished off dancing the Cha-cha Slide!
Kids’ Club ha terminado el trimestre con un espectáculo divertido para sus familias.
El grupo de Daniel interpretó el cuento clásico The Gingerbread Man y el de Michael escribió e interpretó su propio guión titulado “A Rich and Poor Summer.” Terminaron el espectáculo bailando el Cha-Cha Slide!
Patti’s Young Learners 3 English class also showed off their English and their imagination for their parents. They wrote original scripts. One was a famous actress accepting an award and being interviewed on television, performed by Camino and Gabriela. Xiang and Antonia used a cardboard box as a prop for their play “A Visit to India.” The box became a car, a suitcase, a plane, a hotel, a table and a bed! They based this idea on a short film they watched in class called “The Adventures of a Cardboard Box.” They finished off by dancing “The Cupid Shuffle.”
La clase de inglés Young Learners 3 de Patti lucieron sus conocimientos de inglés además de su creatividad para sus padres. Escribieron guiones originales, uno sobre una actriz famosa aceptando un premio y siendo entrevistada, interpretado por Camino y Gabriela. Xiang y Antonia utilizaron una caja de cartón como atrezzo para su sketch “A Visit to India.” ¡La caja se transformó en coche, en maleta, en avión, en hotel, en mesa y en cama! Basaron su guión en una película corta que vieron en clase llamado “The Adventures of a Cardboard Box.” Al final bailaron “The Cupid Shuffle!”
