YL1 Saturdays this Winter
This trimester in YL1 Saturdays, we have been improving our reading, listening, and pronunciation skills by enjoying different books from the library of the International Institute. A favorite book of ours was “No-Bot: The Robot With No Bottom!” We also enjoyed “From Head to Toe” and learned about the different actions different animals make. Additionally, we have been enjoying the sounds and rhythms of English through songs. For Valentine’s Day, we sang a song about hearts and then we made heart-shaped Valentine’s Day “hugs”! For Groundhog’s Day we read a story called “Groundhog Goes Outside,” and made groundhog shadows with black paper and white paint. We’re learning the days of the week and the months of the year, and doing a great job reading “Chicken Soup with Rice: A Book of Months!” We’ve had lots of fun in our classroom, enjoying time with friends, and expressing our creativity!
