Family Culture Club – Recipe of the month (Marzo 2019): Tony’s Treat

Join us as we explore the different regions of the US through food, music, and culture! Each trimester, the Family Culture Club will tour one region of the country, starting with the southern states. Each month will highlight one specific city; its most famous recipe, what makes it unique, and an age appropriate book in English as the foundation of exploration. Families will taste each recipe on site, then will be encouraged to try the recipe together at home and document the process!
Families and children complete family photo journals and recipe books to document their collaborative learning experiences and to share their journey with members of the ASM community. Don’t forget to send us your experience testimonies and pictures to aalonso@iie.es!

¡Únete a nuestro viaje por las diferentes regiones de los Estados Unidos! A través de la comida, la música y la cultura el Family Culture Club recorrerá cada trimestre una región del país, empezando por los estados del sur.
Cada mes destacaremos una ciudad específica y nos acercaremos a su receta más famosa y a aquello que la hace única, a través de una lectura en inglés como base de la exploración. Las familias podrán probar cada receta y se les enseñará y animará a que prueben a realizarla juntos en casa y que documenten el proceso para la creación final de un libro.
Edades de los participantes: de 6 a 8 años.
Actividad en inglés con un poco de español cuando sea necesario.
Horario: un viernes al mes de 18 a 19 h. (nuevo horario de marzo a junio) en la biblioteca del Instituto Internacional.
