Parenting workshops with Shira Wollner

We are pleased to offer a series of parenting workshops led by Shira Wollner, a certified parenting guide with a Master’s degree in Anthropology, who supports families from pregnancy through childhood and adolescence as they navigate the real challenges of family life.

Shira’s workshops provide a practical and supportive space where parents can reflect, learn, and grow together. Through relatable examples, guided discussions, and practical tools, participants will gain strategies to improve communication at home, reduce daily tensions, and strengthen family connection.

Each session includes a deeper understanding of both parents’ and children’s emotional states, helping to better understand what lies behind difficult moments and behaviours. This deeper context — and the opportunity to reflect on family dynamics — is often the starting point for meaningful change.

The workshops also give parents the opportunity to share their own experiences, learn from one another, and take away practical strategies they can immediately apply at home.

Workshop 1: How to Create Boundaries That Provide Security — and Reduce Daily Conflicts at Home
(Early and middle childhood: ages 1–9)

5 June 2026 | 17:30–19:00

Where: International Institute, room 104

Setting boundaries is one of the most challenging parts of parenting. How can we stay clear and consistent without falling into constant power struggles, guilt, or frustration?

In this practical and supportive workshop, parents will learn how to create boundaries that bring more calm, structure, and confidence into the home. We will explore the difference between rules and personal boundaries, and how both can work together to support a child’s development while strengthening the parent-child relationship.

Participants will gain simple and effective tools to know when to lead, when to be flexible, and when to allow independence, so they can respond with intention rather than reacting impulsively in the moment.

Through reflection, shared learning, and practical examples, parents will take away strategies to reduce tension, communicate more clearly, and create a safe, respectful, and balanced family environment.

Parents will leave the workshop feeling more confident, clearer, and calmer about the way they approach their parenting role.

Workshop 2: How to Improve the Atmosphere at Home with Your Teenager
(Ages 9–18)

12 June 2026 | 17:30–19:00

Where: International Institute, room 104

Adolescence often brings more tension, less communication, and the feeling that home is no longer as calm or connected as before. Many parents wonder how to stay close to their teenagers while navigating daily conflicts and emotional ups and downs.

In this dynamic and practical workshop, we will step back from daily struggles to look at the bigger picture: the emotional atmosphere we create at home and how it influences our relationship with teenagers.

We will explore how communication, tone, reactions, and even the “unspoken messages” within the home shape behaviour and connection far more than we often realise. Instead of focusing only on solving problems, parents will learn how to create a more positive emotional climate that encourages cooperation, trust, and closeness.

Through real examples, reflection, experiential exercises, and group discussion, parents will gain tools to:

  • Reduce daily tension and conflict at home
  • Improve communication with their teenagers
  • Respond to challenges with greater awareness and less reactivity
  • Strengthen connection while maintaining their presence and authority as parents

This workshop is designed to help parents better understand what truly shapes the home environment and how small changes can lead to meaningful transformation.

Participants will leave with greater awareness, practical tools, and new ways to create a calmer, more connected relationship with their teenagers.

Important:

The workshops will be conducted entirely in English.
The workshops are free of charge.
