Cultural recommendation for the weekend

Exhibition of photographs "Terre de Personne" by Pierre Gonnord

“This exhibition presents the work of the artist Pierre Gonnord (Cholet, France, 1963), one of the main exponents of the practice of photographic portraiture today. During the last twelve years, Pierre Gonnord has made individual portraits of various groups in which the singularity of the face and the gaze of the chosen and contemplated person have prevailed.(...) This project, the series of 37 works -19 portraits and 18 landscapes - deals with characters who live in another of the margins of contemporary society: those who belong to isolated rural communities that have a development of work and life far removed from the prevailing conventional urbanite. A series that has only just begun and that takes into account its first protagonists in isolated towns in the north of Spain and Portugal, in villages that maintain a lifestyle attached to values that are disappearing.”
