“Italian for Beginners” directed by Lone Scherfig
“Italian for Beginners (Danish: Italiensk for begyndere) is a Danish romantic comedy directed by Lone Scherfig and starring Anders W. Berthelsen, Lars Kaalund and Peter Gantzler. The film was made following the austere principles of the Dogma 95 movement, including manual cameras and natural lighting, and was dubbed Dogme XII. However, in contrast to most of the Dogma films, which are usually serious or gallows in tone, Italian for Beginners is a light comedy that also went on to gross around €500.000 (~$600.000) making it the most profitable Scandinavian film.”
