“150 years of ecology in Spain: science for a fragile land”

“The tour proposes several thematic areas, each of them made up of one or several self-contained modules. "The laws of the thicket" recalls our old national concern for forests. "Islands of water in a sea of land" rescues the work of pioneering researchers in making Iberian rivers and wetlands and their values known. "The promise of the invisible" briefly shows us the short but intense history of our marine sciences. "From the individual to the landscape" points to other perspectives of ecology, which works on as many scales and facets as nature has, from the gene to the biosphere. “The Allies of the Earth” concludes recapitulating an idea present in the above, that all this scientific development is inseparable from a citizen consciousness that has also been growing, maturing and diversifying.”
