Gregory Crewdson's “Sanctuary” Photo Exhibition
“This new set of black and white photographs is the first work Crewdson has produced outside of the United States, using locations on the exterior of the legendary Cinecittà studio outside of Rome. The Sanctuary series is the first black-and-white series since Hover (1996-1997), where Crewdson has moved beyond the surreal human drama construction of previous series to the depiction of landscape devoid of human presence.
