New children's activity in English “READERS' THEATER AT THE LIBRARY”

We start the 2012/2013 academic year with a new dramatized reading activity in English for children from 9 to 12 years old (in 4th to 6th grades of primary school).

The main objective is to promote interest in reading and a taste for oral narration in a playful and educational way.

The activity will be held once a month from October to June on Fridays at 18:XNUMX p.m.

The duration will be approximately one hour with a final part in which a brief representation of the chosen script will be attempted.

In order for participation to be enjoyable, we believe it is necessary for children to have a demonstrable level of medium/high English in reading, comprehension and pronunciation.

With the help of the English Department of the International Institute, level tests will be carried out on those interested unless they have a certificate that allows us to verify it directly.

Christine and Chloe, part of the current team of the English Department of the International Institute, will alternate as hosts of the dynamic.

The activity is part of the services offered to library members. We encourage you to become a Friend of the Children's Library or take one of the courses in the International Institute's English Program to enjoy this option.

The participation of those who are not members of the library has an associated cost of a symbolic nature and allows occasional or non-continuous participation. A symbolic price of €3 per child participating in a single session has been established. Individual tickets can be obtained in advance at the library counter the same week that the storytelling is held up to 15 minutes before the start of the activity.

Given the limited capacity (15 children) all interested parties who want to participate must send a registration message to library@iie.es attaching, if possible, a document that certifies the level of the participant or arrange a level test in the weeks of the current month prior to the development of the Reader's Theater session.

Requests will be dealt with in order of arrival and library members will have priority. Confirmation for the participation of non-members will also be made by email in the first days of the week in which the activity takes place. Space availability will be announced on our website. Facebook y Twitter.

We will be detailing month by month the dates and the selected texts in the agenda of the International Institute and in the blog.

We wait!
