Young Learners 4 (Tuesday-Thursday) group members have recently been exercising their English debate skills. Each week, the students research a controversial topic such as bullfighting, the death penalty, and school uniforms. In teams, they are randomly assigned to a specific side of the argument and learn about presenting their points. We have faced the challenge of advocating a position with which one may not personally agree. We have been discovering what does and what does not create a persuasive argument.
