The Young Learners 2 class celebrates Valentine's Day the American way

Do you know how Americans celebrate Valentine's Day? In the US, Valentine's Day is not just romantic. Many people celebrate and show their affection for their friends and family on this day. It is customary to give cards or sweets to those important people. The students at the school also carry out a very special activity every year, which is exactly what the students in the YL2 English class did to celebrate Valentine's Day this year at the Institute.

The children learned through photos and reading a story in which students in the US make dedicated boxes to collect Valentine's cards that have been made individually by each of their classmates. These little boxes can be decorated in red, white, purple and pink to create a Valentine's theme. The cards carried typical messages such as: “Be mine!” – “You are special!” – “Happy V-Day!”
