Young Learners 2: What's Your Dream Vacation? 

IMG_20150307_130721During March's theme of Vacations in the YL2 English class, the students have been studying the past tense with the verb “to be”. They learned how to describe situations in the past, such as “I was busy last week” and also ask for information about the past, like “Where were you yesterday?”. They have also been reading stories about popular vacation activities for families in the United States, including camping.IMG_20150307_131550

This culminated in a creative activity that combined their imaginations with the English concepts learned in class. The students imagined a dream vacation and made a postcard about it.IMG_20150307_131134

They wrote a message to a friend or family member about the destination and on the other side of the “postcard” they represented the place with a collage.

What's your dream vacation? Some of their dream vacation destinations included Rio de Janeiro, Disney World, a zoo, a bowling alley, and an aquarium. Fun!
