Earth Day in Young Learners 2
Coming on the heels of Earth Day, during May the YL2 class's theme was Our Earth and they did many fun activities!
Kicking things off after Earth Day, they worked in teams on a word mine of Earth Day. They tried creating as many words as they could by using only the letters found in EarthDay. Eat…Heart…Tea…Try…Each… and more! How many words can you think of?
Then, they discovered Jane Goodall and learned about her preservation efforts and animal studies by reading a book about her life.
After learning vocabulary and reading about Earth's geography and landscapes, the children made creative collages of our planet and colorful flowers from tissue paper.
