2nd Week Summer in the City: Holidays the North American Way!

In the second week of Summer in the City, our urban camp in English, the boys have researched and learned about the different holidays from the USA and Canadasome well known and some less so.

The students of Red, Orange y Yellow they made necklaces and masks like the ones worn in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras.

 

 

 

The students of Green they prepared the healthy snacks for his companions: American (and Canadian) flags because in the same week they coincide Canada Day (July 1) y Fourth of July.

El grupo Orange He made piñatas, which are widely used at parties in the US, especially in states like Texas and California, where there is a lot of Latin influence.

One of the funniest things of the week was the visit of some students from a high school from Conn. with them the group Green He played several games to get to know each other in the Paraninfo and the garden, and afterwards they enjoyed a picnic, taking the opportunity to chat and get to know each other in English and Spanish.

Daniel organized an activity for White, Red, Orange and Yellow: they did a rug-sized “Game of the Goose” in English. They played with him at the Institute, and also on the excursion to Madrid Río, where everyone was able to cool off at the “urban beach after the outdoor games (in the shade, of course!)
