YL5 and Activism

YL5 blog post – January

The students of Young Learners 5 have started the year learning about activism. Since January is also the month that we celebrated the birth and life of Martin Luther King, Jr., they've been learning about the fight for equal civil rights in America. Here's a fun video about his life from him:

The students have been perfecting their English, too, such as practicing the differences between Say and Tell. Do you know what's wrong with these sentences? The students sure do!

Jack told me that he was hungry.

He told that he likes pizza.

Jill told Jack to go away.

Jill told me that she was sick.

Here's a video to explain Say and Tell more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzyBqnK3-Hc
