What is the North American English Program for Children and Youth?

The North American English Program for Children and Young Adults offers English classes for all levels of secondary school students. The courses, taught by native North American teachers, combine communication with creativity so that students can have authentic experiences in English and “live” the language while experiencing North American culture.

What are American English classes like for children and teens?

In the Institute’s English classes, students practice the four English skills (speaking, listening, writing, reading) and learn about American culture in a dynamic and communicative environment.

• Emphasis on oral skills and pronunciation:
• Debates,  role plays , games, dramatization and conversation.
• Group projects on current and cultural topics.
• Reading and writing activities to expand vocabulary and review grammar.
• Classrooms equipped to incorporate new technologies for teaching English.
• Virtual Campus to access resources from home.
• Multimedia resources for blogging, webquests, research, and interactive activities in English.

What are our levels?

The levels are defined based on the student’s courses and level of English.

The courses:

• Young Learners 7th & 8th Grade (1st and 2nd ESO)
• Young Learners 9th & 10th Grade

 When do the courses take place?

Classes are held from September to June, spanning three terms. Classes are offered Monday through Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. In addition, the Summer in the City Urban English Camp is held during the month of July.

What kind of teachers teach the classes?

The teachers, with extensive experience, come from the United States or Canada.

Registration

Registration can be completed through our website, choosing the desired academic year and time or days, once the registration period is open.

Information about our courses and prices

• Our courses last the entire school year (September to June) and are organized into three-month trimesters:
  • Autumn term : September to December
  • Winter term : from January to March
  • Spring term : April to June
• Prices are calculated based on the actual number of teaching hours per term, taking into account holidays that may affect classes.
• We do not charge tuition.
• Materials included in the price – without book
• Library membership card  included with registration.
• Priority access to Institute activities:  Enrolled students have priority access to cultural and academic activities organized by the Institute.
