We resume in a new format and with a new facilitator the meetings to analyze and debate different works of North American literature.
After a prior individualized reading, the works will be discussed in a group on the day of the meeting. we have Maria Willstedt as a moderator who will make a brief introduction, ask questions and animate the conversation.
For the month of February we will focus on the story "The perfect alibi" by Patricia Highsmith. It's found available on the internet but you can also read in any of the editions published on paper.
Patricia Highsmith (1921-1995) is one of the most original and disturbing writers in contemporary fiction. The reader will discover in his stories the characteristic elements of the Highsmith universe: the crime that breaks into the everyday, the evil that lurks in any corner, the cruelty that emerges where it is least expected, the suspense handled with a master hand, a deep knowledge of human nature, touches of macabre humor and lacerating irony, as well as the finest handling of sudden impact and unexpected twists.
