First session of a series of four meetings in Spanish where we invite know and debate feminism through women who could be considered feminist Icons, for having contributed to changing the way of understanding gender issues in American society.
The list of names would be very long, but we will focus on 2 or 3 women per session around a specific theme, thus promoting a dialogue between past and present feminism.
Different means of cultural expression (cinema, plastic arts, music, graphic novel, etc.) will be used as support materials. The activity will be moderated by Karen Secret, teacher of American Cultural Studies of the International Institute.
The cycle will take place on some Tuesdays and Thursdays in March and April (March 5, March 21, April 2, April 25). They will be held at the International Institute in the library or at the American Space Madrid from 19 to 20:30 p.m.
SESSION I: Women and Politics—Shirley Chisholm, Hillary Rodham Clinton & Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
