American beat boxer Abraham Velazquez ABE of the Peace Poets collective will hold a workshop in English on Spoken Word of 4 hours.
El Spoken Word (literally translated as “spoken word”) is a type of poetic performance that also uses musical and theatrical elements. The Spoken Word was born in the United States and precedes rap. He mixes narrative discourse with improvisation and poetic resources such as rhyme, puns or repetitions, but from a more accessible perspective, from popular language and colloquial conversation.
The Spoken Word is a powerful tool for creative writing, for fostering poetry, and for building community.
Workshop Recipients: Preference for teens who have participated in the “Finding Our Collective Voice” poetry contest and open to participants in the “Group Discussion for Teens” activity. Capacity for 22 people.
