Sibley Labandeira studied Art History at the Complutense University, obtained a postgraduate degree in Communication and Art, an Art History Research Master at Goldsmiths, University of London and a PhD in Humanities at Carlos III University. Su Here thesis, “From Waste to Worth: Recycling Moving Images as a Means for Historical Inquiry,” focuses on the possibilities of the moving image as a tool for critical thinking.
As a cultural manager, she has developed programs and events for ARCO, Medialab-Prado and the Madrid City Council. Ha She has curated the Editoras film series that defined the classic Hollywood style, Orson Welles: Master Storyteller, Las mujeres de Screwball The Women of Screwball, Pioneers in Classic Hollywood and The Hollywood Witch Hunt (International Institute).
