Summer Fun in the City

Our SUMMER IN THE CITY camp has started off really well.  Our first two weekly themes were THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD and FANTASTIC STORIES.  We had parties with healthy snacks prepared by the students, did lots of interesting projects in class and in the computer lab, and went on a trip to Cibeles Centrocentro to see one of the “wonders” of Madrid.  We also had guest speakers: Jordan Elist, who started his own organization called Save a Bottle, Save a Life,  two interns from the US Embassy, and Louis Lobel, who told the us about his experiences as a volunteer in the Peace Corps. To go along with our FANTASTIC STORIES THEME,  we visited the Museo del Romanticismo and Caixa Forum to see the Piranesi and William Blake exhibits.

Two more fun weeks to go! Our next two themes are CALIFORNIA DREAMING and THE OLYMPIC GAMES!
