Kids Culture Club with Daniel
These past months in Kids Club have been a blast! Loads of interesting activities and stuff to do made every week a busy one! In April the kids started off making their very own Gingerbread Men and Women. After reading a couple of different stories with various points of view about his life, they decided that poor Gingerbread Man was lonely so they came up with other food friends he could have so he wouldn’t have to run away from hungry people and animals alone!
They continued through May with fairytales (and making bookmarks for their mothers for Mother’s Day!) and continued working on different points of view and empathy from different characters: The wolf in the Three Little Pigs, Cinderella’s Stepmother… It was fun and very interesting to think outside the box. Maybe they can use what they’ve learned in their daily lives!
We also talked about magic and what they thought it was. They designed frisbees out of paper and thought about how it was possible that they could fly. After that they read a story about a magic pebble which turned a donkey into: a ROCK! Poor donkey… They went out to look for their very own lucky charms and talked about being careful about what they wish for.
Summer is coming up so Kids Club will come to a finish this year but, it sure has been a fun couple of months with the kids!
¡Estos meses en “Kids Club” han sido geniales! Muchas actividades interesantes y las cosas que hacer cada semana han hecho que cada semana sea muy entretenida. En abril comenzaron creando sus Muñecos y Muñecas de Jengibre. Después de leer distintas historias sobre la vida de este personaje, se dieron cuenta que estaba muy solo y que tenían que pensar en amigos (hechos de comida) que pudiese tener para que no tuviese que huir y correr de las personas y los animales hambrientos solito.
Continuaron en Mayo con los cuentos de Hadas (¡y creando marca páginas para sus madres para el Día de la Madre!) y siguieron trabajando sobre los distintos puntos de vista de los diferentes personajes y la empatía: El Lobo de los Tres Cerditos, la Madrastra del cuento de Cenicienta… Fue interesante ver las cosas desde otro punto de vista… ¡Quizás puedan usar esto en su día a día!
También hablamos sobre la magia y qué pensaban que era. Diseñaron frisbis de papel y pensaron sobre cómo era posible que volasen. Después de eso, leyeron un cuento sobre una piedra mágica que convirtió a un burro en una ¡PIEDRA! Pobre burro… Salieron a buscar sus propios abalorios mágicos y hablaron sobre tener cuidado con qué se desea.
Se acerca el verano así que “Kids Club” llega a su fin este año pero, ¡han sido unos meses maravillosos con los niños!
