THE WITCH HUNT IN HOLLYWOOD FILM SEASON: October 15 – December 17

This film series aims to explore one of the most complex and
upheavals in the history of cinema: the witch hunt in Hollywood. At the end of the decade
the 40s and during the 50s of the XNUMXth century, producers, directors, screenwriters, actors, musicians and
film critics became the target of a spectacular manhunt by the Committee
of Anti-American Activities (HUAC). The process, and the media circus that it entailed, affected
deeply into the film industry and for years dictated how and who could work
in Hollywood.

The cycle is complemented by the American Film Studies course in the fall term, which focuses on the witch hunt in Hollywood. Click here to learn more.
