“Chinese strategy and the art of deception in post-truth times”

Ana Aranda Vasserot studied Audiovisual Communication at the Complutense University of Madrid. After two decades as an audience analyst, format creator and television scriptwriter, she changed her life and profession and turned to the Chinese world. Along with long stays in China, she studied Asian Studies at the UOC and worked at the publisher and bookstore Learn Chinese Today / Adeli editions and at Verasia. she has translated El arte de la guerra, by Sunzi (Sun Tzu), which was published in 2019 by the Ariel publishing house. He currently works at the Discovery Channel, and prepares projects related to Chinese culture.
Daniel Tubau has been a television writer and director for more than twenty years. He is a professor of scriptwriting, literature and creativity in Spain (U.Nebrija, U.Carlos III, TAI, ECAM), Cuba (EICTV) Peru (Universidad de Lima) and the Dominican Republic (UASD). He has published books on philosophy (The Problems of Identity), essays (In Praise of Infidelity), science fiction (Memories of the Analogue Era), Sherlock Holmes (Not So Elementary) or scripts (The Screenwriter's Paradoxes, The Spectator is the protagonist). His latest book is The Art of Deception, an essay on strategy.
Luis Huete has a law degree, an MBA from IESE Business School and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Boston University, where he was a Fulbright scholar. He has been a professor at IESE Business School since 1982 and has taught in the Achieving Breakthrough Service and Advanced Management programs at Harvard Business School. He has also taught programs for executives in other business schools in some twenty countries. An expert in governance, power and society, he has collaborated as a consultant with a large number of companies on five continents. He has published twelve books, each of which stands out Lead for the common good y 50 leaders who made history.
El arte de la guerra, attributed to Sunzi, is the most famous strategy book, known for its paradoxical ideas such as winning without fighting. Not only is it studied in all military academies, along with Carl von Clausewitz's On War, but it also inspires businessmen, entrepreneurs, marketing experts and a long etcetera. Mao Zedong, Steve Jobs, Bruce Lee or Donald Trump have resorted to his stratagems and teachings. In the art of deception, Tubau tracks down the mysterious strategist Sunzi, who lived in the Warring States era, and investigates strategic thinking. The book shows what the classical Chinese strategy consists of, one of its keys being deception, but Tubau's intention goes beyond offering a manual of lies, since his book is also an antidote or a remedy to prevent deceive us
