Each month we’ll choose a different title from contemporary American literature, and discuss it in English during the meeting. For proficiency level or native speakers.
The session will be moderated by Paige Beaulieu, with Brenna Peterson providing support as alternate moderator if needed.
Book of the month: “Gift from the Sea” by Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
“While on vacation on Florida’s Captiva Island in the early 1950s, Lindbergh wrote the essay-style work by taking shells on the beach for inspiration and reflecting on the lives of Americans, particularly American women, in the mid-20th century. She shares her meditations on youth and age, love and marriage, peace, solitude, and contentment during her visit.” From Wikipedia.
You are welcome to attend if it’s your first session even if you have not read the book, as it will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the group, understand its dynamic, and participate in the selection of the next reading.
