Each month we’ll choose a different title from contemporary American literature, and discuss it in English during the meeting. For proficiency level or native speakers.
The session will be moderated by Paige Beaulieu, with Brenna Peterson providing support as alternate moderator if needed.
November reading: “Flashlight” by Susan Choi.
“One evening, ten-year-old Louisa and her father, Serk, take a walk out on the breakwater. They are spending the summer in a coastal Japanese town. Hours later, Louisa wakes on the beach, soaked to the skin. Her father is missing: presumably drowned”.
The session will be also an opportunity to get acquainted with the group, understand its dynamic, and participate in the selection of the next readings.
