Our SUMMER IN THE CITY camp has started off really well. Our first two weekly themes were THE WONDERS OF THE WORLD and FANTASTIC STORIES. On Saturday, June 16th, the Young Learners Saturday classes did a show for their parents and classmates. Young Learners 2 and 4 did “Readers’ Theater” pieces, Young Learners 3 did a newscast with some amazing stories, and Young Learners 6 students acted as greeters and presenters for all the other acts. This spring Kids’ Club students in Patti’s group read Flat Stanley, by Jeff Brown. This book tells the story of a boy, Stanley Lambchop, who becomes flat after a bulletin board falls on him in the night. Being flat allows Stanley to have lots of adventures. Yesterday at the Institute, for La Noche de los Libros, there was a storytelling session in English, about the book What About Me? Thanks to Ana, our librarian, and Carrie and Trisha, the storytellers, for organizing the event. Some of our students also talked about their favorite books. They had lots of ideas. One book we
