The United States Embassy sponsors 28 scholarships to participate in Girls TechCamp, a 9-hour technology training program for girls administered by the Bepool Association / Technological Camp at the American Space Madrid, located at the International Institute in Madrid.
Girls between the ages of 11 and 14, equivalent to 6th grade and 1st, 2nd and 3rd of ESO, may apply for these scholarships. The scholarship includes registration fees, 6 90-minute workshops and the necessary material for the development of these workshops. The workshops are led by qualified teachers. The girls will be accompanied by a monitor for 90 minutes of each workshop.
The program aims to attract school-age girls to the ever-evolving field of technology and motivate them to pursue science, math, engineering or technology-related careers, known in the United States by the acronym Science, technology, engineering and mathematics: STEM (science, technology, engineering & mathematics, in English).
The course covers the period between October 6, 2015 and December 16, 2015. Throughout those three months, the girls will attend class one afternoon every two weeks after school hours at the headquarters of the American Space Madrid ( International Institute, Miguel Ángel 8, Madrid).
Those interested in applying for scholarships can request the registration form by sending us their data until October 1, 2015. The American Space Madrid will contact you.
