“Lázaro de Tormes” directed by Fernando Fernán-Gómez and José Luis García Sánchez

“Transposition to the big screen of the theatrical monologue written by Fernando Fernán Gómez based on the classic “Lazarillo de Tormes”. A mature Lázaro de Tormes is forced to prove to the courts that his way of life, over thirty years, is due to the need to escape hunger and not the desire to commit crimes. Throughout his fiery statement he mixes past, present and future with the intention of entertaining the audience; at the same time weaving a tapestry of types and customs of the time and with equal sarcasm to clergy, power and people.”
