American Space Madrid organizes the event "How to win a NASA hackathon?", a meeting for all those who want to participate in NASA Spaceapps2019, the largest Hackathon in the world, where the general public can face challenges proposed by scientists and NASA engineers.
This event will feature the participation of Rosa Nárvaez and Almudena M. Castro, members of "Pillars of Creation", the Madrid team that won the global competition in the "Best use of Science" category in the 2018 competition. As a culmination to the event, and after the official presentation, those attending the American Space meeting will be able to view the movie "First Man" Damien Chazzel.
NASA SpaceApps is a competition promoted by the North American space agency at a global level with which it aims to bring the public closer to the science, engineering and creativity necessary to solve problems both in Space and here on Earth. In the 2018 edition, which was held in more than 200 cities, had more than 17.000 participants, nearly 1400 solutions were presented for the 21 challenges that had been raised. The Madrid edition, SpaceAppsMadrid, to be held between October 18 and 20 It is organized by the Celera Association, Propelland, and ienai Space, with the collaboration of the US Embassy and the Madrid City Council.
